"Dune" de Jodorowsky : le classique SF qu'on a jamais eu

Une adaptation (très libre) de Dune par Alejandro Jodorowsky, connu pour ses films complétement perchés

Avec une line-up de taré :
- Moebius au storyboard du film
- H.R. Giger au concept-art des Harkonnen
- Pink Floyd à la BO
- Salvador Dalí dans le rôle de l'Empereur.
D'ailleurs il voulait toucher 100.000 dollars / h pour ce rôle et être l'acteur le mieux payé d'Hollywood. Ça partait déjà bien

Putain mais imaginez, un film de 12h sorti de la tête de Jodorowsky , mélangé aux plans et personnages de Moebius, et le stye dérangé de H.R. Giger, la BO psyché de Pink Floyd.
On a probablement loupé la meilleure œuvre de tout les temps. Seul bémol, sa réadaptation de Dune shootée au LSD mais dans un sens, il a changé le cinéma à tout jamais. Sans lui, pas de Star Wars, ni de Alien, et plein d'autres films.

Ce projet laisse derrière lui une bible, le storyboard complet, avec tout les plans et dialogues du film, et dessiné par Mobius et H.R. Giger, dont le dernier exemplaire s'est vendu au enchères pour 2,66 millions d’euros.

Jodorowsky was going to shoot part of the film in Algeria. They spoke to the Algerian government, and the Algerian army was going to play extras. Jodorowsky was looking for who was going to play Jessica, and he wanted a strong, beautiful woman, not a weak dainty woman. Someone with a real spiritual strength. He saw a movie with Charlotte Rampling, and thought she would be perfect. They sent Charlotte Rampling the script, and she agreed to meet with Jodo before she had read the script, and in the script, there is a scene where a character named Rabban the Beast, part of the Harkonnen army. In order to insult Duke Leto, David Carradine, Rabban the Beast gets his army, the Algerian army, to pull down their pants in front of the palace and shit. So there’s going to be a scene of 2,000 extras defecating at once. So here’s Charlotte Rampling, she agrees to meet with Jodo, she gets the script, she reads the script, and she says, “I can’t be in a movie where there’s 2,000 extras defecating on screen! I need to be in a movie that people are actually going to see! Who the hell is going to see this movie?” Jodo said, “It was a great disappointment for me. A great disappointment.” It’s kind of fantastic.

après visuellement ça aurait pas été aussi beau que sur les artworks avec les moyens limités des années 70

le costume de Sardaukar fait pour le film est naze:

Jamais compris les gens qui présentent comme des chefs d'oeuvre des films qui n'existent pas

Les ambitions étaient folles et la bédé qui a découlé de ce projet, la Caste des Meta-Barons, est une merveille.

C'est sûr... J'me dis que ce film avait 20 ans d'avance, et avec les moyens de maintenant ça aurait été un classique

vu ses autres films... je préfère qu'il reste dans la BD perso
mais chacun ses gouts

Le film n'a jamais été tourné, c'est trop facile de dire que c'est le chef d'oeuvre ultime

Pour rappel, il y a quelque chose qui s'appelle la RÉALITÉ et à laquelle personne n'échappe

Les costumes hors contexte du film rendent toujours mal (cf Star Wars)
