Barr : "Trump committed a grave wrongdoing in Jan. 6 case"
When Trump faces off Justice Department over his attempt in 2020, Legal experts have said his defense is unlikely to hold up in court, and prosecutors made clear in the indictment that the conspiracy part was illegal. Numerous people have said that he quite obviously knew he’d lost, including, most recently, his former attorney general.
Bill Barr told that Trump “knew well he lost” and that it was likely that Special Counsel Jack Smith has even more evidence than we know of proving as much. Barr said "We’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg on this, I think there is a lot more to come, and I think they have a lot more evidence, As the indictment says, his First Amendment right does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy, the allegations in the indictment were nauseating and despicable, someone who engaged in that kind of bullying about a process that is fundamental to our system and to our self-government shouldn’t be anywhere near the Oval Office” Bill Barr stated
Chris Christie, Former Trump ally turned rival, told George Stephanopoulos, “Trump doesn’t believe he won. He said to me directly that he was concerned that he was losing, he knows he didn’t win”
In his testimony to the House panel, General Mark Milley, said that during a meeting, Trump accepted that he had lost “He says words to the effect of : Yeah, we lost"
