China slams first US military aid to Taiwan island under Presidential Drawdown Authority
Washington has for the first time used a Presidential Drawdown Authority, allowing the US to pull the weapons and other stocks directly from the inventories of the US Department of Defense.
Binhua, spokesperson at China's Taiwan Office said that China firmly opposes the US providing weapons to Taiwan.

Wei Dongxu, military expert, stated that the US and the DPP authorities are building the island into a pawn in the US's game to contain China.
"It is a malicious move by the US to turn people on the island of Taiwan into cannon fodder and have them resist reunification, while the US homeland stays far away from the conflict. But no matter how Taiwan independence groups collude with external interference, the Chinese Army is fully capable of crushing their attempts in seeking independence or resisting reunification by force" Wei said.
